At approximately 10:30am this morning Warden School District entered a “secure and teach” in cooperation with local law enforcement. The precautionary measure was to ensure the safety of our students and staff while continuing educational activities with minimal disruption. We are pleased to report that the situation has been resolved without incident, and normal school operations have resumed thanks to cooperation from staff and students. Thank you all for your trust and partnership in maintaining a safe learning environment at Warden School District.

It is with deep sadness that we share with you of the passing of one of our 3rd grade students who died in a tragic accident this morning.
As we navigate through this tragedy, we feel it important to call to attention to the fact that situations such as this can have unforeseeable reactions in students as they begin to cope with loss. We understand the impact it may have on our students, staff, and families. We want to assure you that we are here to support you during this difficult time.
Warden School District Support Team of administrators, social workers, clergy, and counselors will meet individually with students who need support, and support staff will be available throughout the week.

"Greetings Warden Schools Families - HAPPY Thanksgiving Week!
After an unusually warm fall season, freezing temperatures and precipitation are in the forecast. Please dress warm, comfortable, and wear proper footwear to help prevent accidents. The following information is intended to keep families and the community informed of inclement weather procedures and communications.
Snow Make-Up Days - included on 2023-2024 District Calendar
- Friday, May 24 - Snow Make-Up Day #1
- Thursday, June 13 - Snow Make-Up Day #2
- Friday, June 14 - Snow Make-Up Day #3
Notifications: to families - phone call through ParentSquare, district website, district Facebook
- 2-Hour Late Start - notification by 6am.
- School Cancellation - following a late start, notification by 8:30am.
- Athletics - when school is cancelled, notification by 11:30am if athletics can occur.
FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions) - information regarding inclement weather, late start on early release, cancellations, etc.
Q. Will we have school if there is a 2-hour late start on a 12:20pm early release?
A. School will be canceled on a 12:20pm early dismissal day if 2-hour late start would be needed.
Q. Is there AM preschool on 2-hour late start?
A. No, there will not be AM preschool. There will be PM preschool at regular time.
Q. Will there be breakfast on 2-hour late start?
A. No breakfast. Lunches will start being served at approximately 11:15am.
Q. What does the temperature need to be for indoor recess to occur?
A. Indoor recess occurs when the temperature drops below 20*, including wind chill.

The safety and preparedness of our students and staff are of paramount importance to us, and this exercise is a testament to our ongoing commitment to their well-being.

During the drill, our students and staff followed established safety protocols with precision, demonstrating their dedication to maintaining a secure learning environment. The "Secure and Teach" phase allowed us to not only practice immediate safety measures but also to educate our students about the importance of these procedures in a calm and reassuring manner.
We want to assure our community that these drills are an essential part of our preparedness efforts, enabling us to continuously refine our emergency response procedures. Warden schools families,
We want to inform you of an incident that occurred today within our school district. A staff member overheard a secondary student make a concerning threat that required immediate action. In accordance with the district's commitment to the safety of our students and staff, the district took the threat seriously and promptly contacted law enforcement.
Law enforcement responded swiftly, and the student was removed from campus by law enforcement to help ensure general safety. Please be assured that the top priority for Warden School District is the safety and well-being of our students and staff. We will continue to work closely with law enforcement to thoroughly investigate this matter and take any necessary steps to ensure the security of the school environment.
We understand that incidents like this can cause concern within our community, but please know that the district remains committed to maintaining a safe and nurturing educational environment for all. We appreciate your support and understanding as we navigate this situation together.

We want to address a recent incident that occurred within our school district. District administration was notified today of a student safety concern, and in accordance with our commitment to the safety and well-being of all students, a thorough search was conducted. During this search, a look-a-like weapon, a knife, and drugs were discovered in the student’s vehicle.
Immediately upon discovery, law enforcement was contacted, and they took swift action. The student's vehicle was impounded, and the student was taken into custody. The safety of our students and staff remains our top priority, and we will continue to cooperate fully with law enforcement in their investigation.
We understand the concern and anxiety this incident may have caused within our community, but please rest assured that we are taking every possible step to ensure the safety and security of our school environment. We appreciate your support and understanding during this challenging time, and we remain committed to providing a safe and nurturing educational experience for all our students.

Warden School District is seeking applications from persons interested in being appointed to committees to write the for/against statements for the Grant and Adams County Local Voters’ Pamphlets related to the District’s following ballot measures, (1) Replacement Educational Programs and Operation Levy and (2) Replacement Capital Levy for Instructional Technology Improvements, to be considered at the February 13, 2024 Special Election.
